PU student killed in road accident

Three people were killed in separate accidents in the City since Tuesday.

Naresh, 18, resident of HSR Layout, was killed when he tried to overtake a BMTC bus from left on K H Road. Sanjana Bora, 20, his close relative, riding pillion on the bike, has suffered head injuries.

Naresh was pursuing pre-university course at St Francis College, Koramangala. On Wednesday, his family members were on their way to Mantri Mall, Malleswaram, when the accident occurred. While Naresh and Sanjana were on the bike, three other family members were following them in an auto. Police sources said Naresh, while trying to overtake the BMTC bus, lost balance and rammed his bike into the median. While Sanjana fell onto the other side of road, Naresh fell to his left with the speeding BMTC bus running over him. Sanjana, who suffered head injuries, is being treated at Nimhans Hospital and is said to be out of danger.

In another accident, Chandrappa, 56, resident of Ramagondanahalli, was mowed down by a car on Tuesday night near Ramagondanahalli bus stand in Whitefield. Chandrappa, a coolie, was living with his brother’s family. After dinner, he had gone to a shop and while returning home, he was knocked down by the speeding car. The car driver abandoned the vehicle and fled. Whitefield traffic police have registered a case.

In another incident, a 50-year-old woman was fatally knocked down by a vehicle at K G Circle in the early hours of Wednesday. Upparpet traffic police have registered a case.

Worker killed

A fight over a trivial issue ended in the murder of a worker at BRV Layout in Kamakshipalya on Tuesday. Narayanappa, 55, from Tavarekere in Nelamangala taluk, lived in a shed with his co-worker Nagaraju.

On Tuesday night, in an inebriated state, an argument ensued between the two and Nagaraju hit Narayanappa with a concrete slab, killing him instantly. Kamakshipalya police have registered a case and are on the lookout for Nagaraju.
