The accused identified as Venkatesh Rao (27), Imran Khan (39) and Ram Patel (36) were arrested from Hyderabad recently after the NCB sleuths from Mumbai and Chennai laid down a trap to burst the Internet drug trafficking racket.

“The three accused were selling drugs through Internet across the world — Australia, Malaysia, Europe, America and other countries. We have recovered huge quantities of drugs like hydrocodone, oxycodyne and others from them which were sold illegally,” Narcotics Control Bureau, Zonal Director, Mumbai, Yashodhan Wanage told reporters here.

The accused have allegedly sold drugs that required prescription and also those that did not require prescription in huge quantities, he said.

Drugs were sold through a website www.indianpharmaceuticalsmanufactures.com, which had a call centre in Hyderabad through which the orders were taken and later sent to clients through private courier companies.
