<p>N H Shivashankara Reddy of ruling Congress is all set to become the deputy speaker of Karnataka Assembly.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Reddy, who won four times consecutively from Gauribidanur Assembly segment in Kolar district bordering Andhra Pradesh, filed his nomination papers today for the election to the post.<br /><br />He was accompanied by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee G Parameshwara among others.<br /><br />With numbers stacked against them, the opposition JDS and BJP which have 40 MLAs each in the 224-member House, chose not to field their nominee for the post.<br /><br />Congress, which ousted BJP from power in the assembly elections in May last, has a strength of 122. Reddy's election is expected to be formally announced tomorrow.</p>
