<p>The Sarjapur police on Friday received a letter threatening to carry out “19 bomb explosions” on the Wipro campus on Sarjapur Road. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Venkat Shetty, an inspector attached to Attibele police station, said that the letter was delivered to the station through regular post at about 1 pm on Friday. <br />A copy of the letter which is available with <em>Deccan Herald</em>, has a four-line message written twice — in upper as well as lower case. <br /><br />It stated: “Big bomb explode. 11 am morning Friday 19 July 2013 at Wipro Sarjapur at Corporation Block and Training block floor. And Saturday 1 pm afternoon. 19 bombs 5 minutes. You die, building damage. Jihad.”<br /><br />The Sarjapur police registered a case in this regard and transferred it to the HSR Layout police, as the Wipro campus comes under the latter’s jurisdiction. Additional Commissioner (Law and Order) Kamal Pant told <em>Deccan Herald</em> that prima facie, the letter appears to be a hoax. <br /><br />Even before the letter reached the Sarjapur police station, one of the blast schedules mentioned in the letter had passed.<br /><br />Anti-sabotage check <br /><br />However, the City police conducted an anti-sabotage check on the Wipro campus on Friday afternoon, soon after they received the letter. <br /><br />They found nothing untoward on the campus. Security has been beefed up at the campus as a precaution, he said. <br /><br />Wipro said: “As a matter of routine, a security check was undertaken at Wipro’s Sarjapur campus. Our operations continue to be business as usual.”<br /><br />A similar threat letter was found on the premises of an Isro facility, and a similar letter was sent to a five-star hotel in Yeshwanthpur in the last week of June. <br /><br />The letter had threatened to carry out terror attack at 10 landmarks in the City. However, the threat turned out to be a hoax. <br /><br />The City police are yet to track down the sender of these letters.</p>
