Mom-in-law becomes mother

Years ago a smart  director wanted to cast Dimple Kapadia as the seductress in Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi who entraps Akshay Kumar into a lustful bath. That would have surely been embarrassing. Says a source, “Dimple had almost choked on the suggestion.”

That role, blessedly went to Rekha. But Dimple and Akshay are now finally coming together as the mother and son in Nikhil Advani’s London-based, cross generation drama Patiala House, which also pairs Rishi Kapoor and Dimple for the fourth time. Rishi Kapoor plays the action star’s father in this picture.
