Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Fellowship was started to encourage students of basic sciences, engineering and medicine to take up research careers in these areas. Business incubator

The Centre for Electronics Development and Technology (CEDT) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has launched a business incubator in partnership with the HeadStart Foundation. Prof Jamadagni, Chairman of CEDT, Jagannath Rao, advisor to CEDT and formerly Director of Motorola India’s mobile handsets business and Kallol Borah, Director, HeadStart Foundation will manage the incubator. HSBC Scholarships

The HSBC Scholarships is open to students admitted for undergraduate or graduate studies at Oxford, Cambridge or London Universities, in the UK, for a maximum period of three years for any of the courses offered at these universities. Applications should be accompanied with the acceptance letter.

Aid for Indians

American Alumni Association (AAA) provides financial assistance to needy students who want to study in the US.

The AAA provides financial assistance of Rs 50,000 each, to those students who have secured admission or have an admission offer from a US institute for post-graduate education.

Selection criteria include:
( a) Educational and co-curricular accomplishments;
( b) Relevance of educational programme;
(c) The financial need of the student and his or her family; and
(d) The stature of the US university relative to the desired programme.
Meritorious and needy students who make the final list are required to attend a personal interview. There is an application fee that needs to be paid. For more information please visit : www.americanalumni.net.

Gupta college

Gupta college offers PUC, BCom, and BBM. It has announced merit scholarships for those who have scored above 60% and wish to take up studies at the college. Scholarship will be in the form of fee concession in tuition fee equivalent to their percentage of marks.

Zakath fund

Bazm-e-Niswan Charitable Trust calls for applications for financial assistance, out of their Zakath funds, for Muslim girls, who wish to pursue higher studies after SSLC. Students should secure 50% and above. Preference will be given to first class students studying science, commerce, computers, engineering, BDS and MBBS. Application forms at Rs 15 will be issued from 15th May to 10th June, from 11am to 3pm, at Bazm-e-Niswan Charitable Trust, No 37, Muniswamy Road.

Free hostel facility

Brahmana Vidyarthi Sahaya Sangha will provide free hostel facility for poor Brahmin students. Those interested can collect the application form from the BVS Sangha office situated at No 35, NS Iyengar Street, Sheshadripuram between 5pm and 6pm. Last date: June 30.
