Guv seeks VC's opinion on KSOU irregularities

Governor H R Bhardwaj is learnt to have sought Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) vice chancellor M G Krishnan’s comments on a proposal by the State government to order a probe into the alleged irregularities in appointments to various posts in the university.

Sources said the Governor, who is also the Chancellor of universities in the State, has asked the vice chancellor to give his opinion in 15 days. The government had recently proposed that a detailed probe should be ordered into the alleged largescale irregularities in KSOU.

Higher Education department Principal Secretary Rajneesh Goel had conducted a preliminary inquiry into the issue. Based on the findings of the department, the government proposed that a probe should be conducted.
