<p>Shopian town in south Kashmir continued to remain under curfew for the seventh consecutive day today following killing of five persons in CRPF firing in two separate incidents on September 7 and September 11.<br /><br /></p>.<p>"Curfew continues in Shopian township today as a precautionary measure," a police spokesman said.<br /><br />Curfew was first clamped in Shopian district on September 8, following wide-spread clashes after the killing of four persons in CRPF firing a day earlier.<br /><br />The prohibitory orders were lifted on September 11, but curfew was re-imposed in the town next day following clashes between the protesters and security forces which led to the killing of another youth, taking the toll to five.<br /><br />However, official sources said the restrictions were eased late last evening to allow people to buy essential commodities as there was no relaxation in curfew since September 12.<br /><br />A high-level ministerial delegation visited the affected town yesterday to take stock of the situation.</p>
