The Cricket Association of Bengal is planning a celebration on the occasion of Sachin Tendulkar’s 199th Test which will be hosted by Eden Gardens.

The match, against the West Indies, is slated to be held from November 6-10.

The CAB is planning to invite Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman, four players who have spent most of their careers playing with Tendulkar, on the occasion and also felicitate Tendulkar during his penultimate international match.
A CAB official sounded confident about having Ganguly.

“The details of the event are yet to be worked out. A lot of what will happen will depend on the availability of all five together. We’re confident of having Ganguly around as he is the chairman of our coaching committee. He will not say no to us, more so when it’s got to do with Sachin,” the official said.

It is understood that the Indian team will have a function for Tendulkar on the first morning of the Test match.

The officials have already gone on record saying that they would be seeking BCCI permission to put Tendulkar’s photos on all match tickets to commemorate the occasion.
