Drainage pipe damaged

The drainage pipe laid by BWSSB outside houses, with door No 43, 44 (MIG 2nd stage), 6th Main, Kengeri Satellite town are damaged with the result that the drainage water is inundating the area posing health problems to residents. Following a complaint, the BWSSB men pumped of water twice. But, it has not solved problem. The permanent solution is to replace the damaged underground drainage. The BWSSB authorities are requested to do the needful immediately. Piecemeal solution will not help.

More buses needed to Shivajinagar

It would be of a great boon to citizens if there are more BMTC buses plying to Shivajinagar from Soundarya Layout, Meenakashi Layout and Bonemill. Currently, there are only two buses plying from Thammanahalli to Shivajinagar (Nos 250V and 250X).

Residents of Soundarya Layout, Meenakashi Layout and Bonemill are facing problems as there are no buses from these areas to Shivajinagar during the morning (between 6 am and 7 am)

Recently, the BMTC abruptly withdrew the services of one bus which was plying in the morning hours between Chikkabanavara and Shivajinagar (No 250W). We request the BMTC authorities to provide buses at regular intervals of 15 minutes, mainly in the morning hours.

Instal traffic signal here

The junction at the Vignan Nagar Main Road and Kaggadasapura Main Road, near the Vignan Nagar bus stop is a mess during peak hours.

This is a three-way junction and vehicles coming from all the three directions get stuck here forming queues at least for a kilometre and a half on the Kaggadasapura Road and the Vignannagar main road. There are no policemen in this signal and only the efforts of a few good samaritans in the neighbourhood shops helps the traffic flow.

This junction is in urgent need of a traffic signal to ease the traffic congestion.
The authorities concerned are requested to take immeidate steps to instal traffic signal at the busy junction to avert  accidents in future.

Garbage dumped in front of house

In spite of several complaints to the BBMP, nothing has been done to check dumping of garbage being dumped in front of our house. There are stray dogs in front of the house all the time. Our family is just recovering from a bout of viral fever. Will the officials look into the matter?

Pothole-ridden Rhenius Street turns nightmare for motorists

I wish the chief Minister or the mayor would try and drive on Rhenius Street or the parallel road (Church Road) in Richmond Town and feel for themselves what potholes are all about.

These are bone crushers and this state of affairs has been persisting for more than two months. Every VIP avoids these roads and do not take any action to repair them. This is a main road leading to Richmond Road.

Baldwins Girls School and Baldwins Opportunity School for the mentally and physically challenged children are also located on Rhenius Street.

It is high time that the authorities concerned take immediate steps to restore the badly damaged road in the interest of public.

Poor roads in Jakkur

Two roads in Telecom Layout, Jakkur dug up five months ago and have not been asphalted so far. These two roads are filled with crushed stones. Residents are suffering from allergies due to the dust emanating when vehicles are moving the road. Will the BBMP repair the roads at the earliest?

Lake land encroached

Sewage and excess water from Bellandur Lake reach the Outer Ring Road via a parallel path. Bellandur Lake has shrunk much, owing to the encroachment of land close to the lake

It is quite apparent that the builders have encroached the lake land when it gets filled with water after every rainfall. On similar lines, it may be a good idea to extend the Wind Tunnel road to connect Old Airport road (at Murugeshpalya) and Outer Ring Road (at Panathur/Bellandur). However, the land encroachment may affect the connectivity of these roads too.

Stray dog menace in Nandini Layout

Stray dog menace has become rampant in 4th Cross, Ramakrishnanagar (Railwaymen’s Colony) in Nandini Layout. A pack of about 12 stray dogs pounce on kids, attack strangers, ferociously chase vehicles passing by and howl all night long. At least a dozen people including four children have already been bitten by dogs. Children fear venturing onto road. The problem is compounded with some residents feeding these dogs on a daily basis. A few unkempt vacant sites with weeds and shrubs provide good cover for the strays. Complaints lodged at the BBMP cell have gone on deaf ears and no solution appears to be in sight. The Palike officials are requested to take immediate action.

Drinking water contaminated

The residents of Krishnanagar under Uttarahalli ward No.184, are getting contaminated Cauvery water through pipes for quite some time. Water-borne diseases like dysentery, throat infections and stomach disorders have been spreading fast in the locality. Children are the most affected. The matter has been brought to the notice of the BWSSB officials. The controlling valves operated daily by the lineman are not encased properly. Hope the authorities act swiftly in the interest of public health.

Drainage work leaves behind bad road in Siddapura

The 3rd cross road in Siddapura Layout near Lalbagh, was dug up for underground drainage work. However, the BWSSB has not restored the road after
completing the work. This has left the road in a poor condition.

The road has not been asphalted and hence the uneven and pothole-ridden stretch is proving dangerous for motorists. Rains compound the problem. Further, the stormwater drain on either side of the road has occupied much space and in fact, has reduced the width of the road.

Unscientific construction of the SWD is resulting in flooding of the area during rains. The BBMP has not been clearing garbage regularly in this area. Since the Palike men do not collect segregated garbage regularly, residents dispose off the garbage at public places. A vacant site nearby has turned into a landfill. It is high time the authorities concerned take some action.

Sewage blocking drains

The sewage blocking the shoulder drain on 14th Main Road, Vasanthnagar is a health hazard, as it may lead to dengue and other water-borne diseases. The condition of the drain has not been improved despite repeated complaints to the BWSSB. Authorities must take note of the situation and remedy it at the earliest.

Access road in pathetic state

The residents of apartments in and around Tubarahalli are facing a problem due to the pathetic state of access road in the neighbourhood. The road is a ‘muddy stretch’ sandwiched between Sriram Samruddhi main Entrance Arch and Tubarahalli village road adjacent to Favara Car Accessories showroom. This road is the only access to approximately 750 dwelling units currently and approximately over 1,000 currently under construction. The road is also used by students of Vibgyor High School at the end of this road. Scores of buses ply on this road morning, afternoon and evening in addition to the vehicles of the residents. This road has not been tarred or even made motorable ever since our builders handed over apartments to our possession.  The road is even more dangerous in the raining season as many accidents take place. The dust raised by the traffic causes health problems. All the roads in entire Whitefield area have been tarred in the past year and only this patch of mud road is left alone due to reasons best known to the officials. Officials are requested to immediately repair the road in the interest of the safety of citizens.
