Woman held for burglary, 182 gram gold recovered

 About 182 gram of stolen gold worth over Rs 2 lakh has been recovered from her.
38-year-old Durgamma, the prime accused in the burglary case, is a resident of Shirali at Bhatkal in Uttara Kannada district. Sources said that she was pally with the goorkhas in the vicinity. Further investigations are on.

Pandu murder: 2         more held
District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) police led by Inspector Venkatesh Prasanna have arrested two key accused in the underworld criminal Panduranga Pai murder case. The arrested are Bejai Raja alias Shailesh (40) and Yashodhara Shetty (38) of Katipalla.
With this, all the accused in the murder case have been arrested. A special team of DCIB had arrested Rohith, Rajesh Shetty and Yuvaraj on May 15.
Venkatesh Prasanna said the murder of Panduranga Pai was entirely a different case and there was no connection between this and the Naushad murder. Bejai Raja alias Shailesh is an accused in the murder of Rajesh D’Souza of Bejai and has been involved in various other cases too.

4 arrested
The police have arrested four persons from Valencia on the charges of indulging in immoral activities. The arrested are Riyana (25) of N R Pura in Chikmagalur, Riyaz C K (25) of Kasargod, Swapna (25) of Kolkata and Sunil Kumar (24) of Bangalore.

Body traced
The body of the boy who drowned in Arabian sea on Monday was found near Kaup Light House on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Sunil Acharya (13).



Missing rifle recovered


The DCIB police on Wednesday have recovered a rifle that had gone missing from Mangalore Rural Station 17 years back. They have arrested one Harish (36) of Karmara in Padil in this connection.
The police raided Harish’s house on an information that a rifle has been kept there illegally. After inspection, they concluded that it was Lee & Field Short Magazine No 4 mark 1 .303” rifle that was stolen from Mangalore Rural police station on July 6, 1992.
