Man arrested, 4.5 kg gold recovered

Accused, Nazeer Ahmed, a resident of Shiroor, Bhatkal, landed in Bangalore by an Emirates Dubai-Bangalore flight at 2.55 am. Nazeer was carrying the consignment in three packets. One medium sized packet was tucked in the shirt, while the other two were found in the ankles.

Playing innocent

During interrogation, Nazeer, a cloth merchant has revealed that he gets Rs 5,000 for carrying the consignment.

He has travelled more than three times to Dubai and is pretending to be innocent.
However, he has failed to doll out names of either the receiver or the person who handed over the  consignment to him, the police said.
