Three days after a 16-year-old girl was found in a dishevelled condition after being gang raped by four-five men in the Connaught Place area, Delhi Police have not made any arrest in this connection so far.

Police are examining the CCTV footage of the parking of N Block behind Scindia House in Barakhamba area, where the girl was found and the nearby areas to get some clues regarding the accused persons.

Many secret informers have already been quizzed and arrests are likely soon, police said.
The girl, who is a resident of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, has been sent to a government-run Nari Niketan.

The victim, who has been in trauma since the incident took place, is unable to answer any question properly, police said.

The girl had come to the city on Sunday by a Delhi-Gorakhpur train after having a fight with her father and stepmother.

According to her complaint, a group of five men met her in Outer Circle of CP at 7.30 pm. One of them identified himself as Deepak, a driver by profession, and promised to provide her an accommodation and a job.

“They took her to an isolated place on a lane behind Scindia House and took turns to rape her. They threatened her not to tell anybody about the crime before fleeing,” the girl’s statement said.

She was produced before a Child Welfare Committee which had sent her to Nari Niketan.

A case under section 376G (gang rape) of the Indian Penal Code and Protection
Of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been registered with Barakhamba Road police station against unknown persons.
