Minister for Medical Education Dr Sharan Prakash R Patil on Monday said there was a need to re-look the curriculum in pharmacology colleges.

A proposal for the same has been put before Medical Council of India for consideration. Inaugurating the 46th Annual Conference of Indian Pharmacological Society IPSON-2013, he said, since most of the drugs were patented outside the country, the cost was high here. He added that there was need to focus on research and clinical trials to ensure that cost-effective drugs could be availed.
