Lab technician run over by bus

A lab technician with a private hospital in Rajajinagar was killed on the spot in a head-on collision between a bus and a two-wheeler, near Binny Mills on Mysore Road on Sunday morning. 

The accident occurred at 7 am when Yashaswini, 27, was on her way to meet a friend. A Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus, coming from the opposite direction, collided with Yashaswini’s vehicle. She fell down, came under the front wheel of the bus and died. The driver of the bus Nazir Saab has been arrested.

Yashaswini hailed from Bhadravati and was staying at a paying guest accommodation at Padarayanapura, police said.

Man dies in accident

Siddaiah, 35, died on the spot after he was run over by a BMTC bus on Channasandra Main Road in Whitefield on Sunday. He was a resident of Yentaganahalli near Nelamangala. Siddaiah was on his way to meet his sister in Chikkatirupathi. 

The bus driver lost control of the vehicle and rear-ended Siddaiah’s bike. 

He fell down and came under the wheels. The bus then collided with a two-wheeler. The rider, Manjunath, fell down and was injured. He  was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver abandoned the bus and fled, police said.

Miscreants flee with lorry

Unidentified miscreants fled with a lorry after waylaying it and assaulting the driver and cleaner near Kannamangala Gate in Kadugodi on Saturday night.
According to the Kadugodi police, the six men were standing near Kannamangala Gate. They noticed a lorry approaching them and stopped it. The driver and cleaner got out of the lorry to ask the men why they had stopped them, but they were assaulted with iron rods. 

Three of the miscreants drove away the lorry, while the rest followed it in a car. The lorry was transporting cement bags to Hosur.

Passersby saw the driver and cleaner lying in a pool of blood and rushed them to hospital. The timely help saved their lives, police said. 

A case of dacoity has been registered.
