Five held for murder

 Police have arrested five people for the murder of a rowdy in Pension Mohalla in Cottonpet on December 21.

The arrested are Imran, Yaseen, Afroz, Tanveer and Tabrez who allegedly hacked to death Jeevan alias Jeevendra, 28, in full public view.

Jeevan was released from the prison around 15 days ago.

On December 21, Jeevan was walking near the Masjid-e-Noorul Huda to meet some of his associates when some assailants accosted him, brandishing lethal weapons.

Police suspected the involvement of rival gang members in the murder.

Accordingly, they intensified search and arrested five of them.

They are still interrogating the suspects to find out the motive behind the murder.
