Rains bring smile on faces of tea growers

The scenes at any tea estate will bring a bliss and lavish spectacle for eyes. The tea plantations have turned lush green speaking eloquently of healthy yield. Thus process of tea leaves have been going on day and night in large scale in most of the tea processing factories in the area.

Every year the rains stop during October and the availability of tea leaves starts depleting with the end of rains. Usually, the cultivator resort to sprinkler during November as the rains stop by October itself.

Fortunately for the tea cultivator, this year, since the rains have been lashing even during last week of November there is abundance of tender tea leaves. All in all the hide and seek between rains and the sun has proved out to be helpful for tea cultivators. Since tea powder is fetching good rate, happiness of the cultivator at present knows no boundaries.
It is said that the yield has gone up by over 30 per cent during November, when compared to last year, says a cultivator. Even the women picking the leaves are happy about the yield as availability of leaves means more work and income.
