JOIN USOn Saturday the Army had killed 12 infiltrators along LoC in Gurez sector and foiled their attempt to cross over Kashmir from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
After the incident security forces launched fresh massive combing operations in the forests of Gurez, Machil, and Tanghdar and Keran sectors on Sunday.
A defence official said the Army personnel noticed some movement. It was a group of four militants near LoC in Balnoie forward belt in Poonch district during the wee hours on Sunday. The security forces asked the militants to surrender but they opened fire. In the exchange of fire, a militant was killed and another got injured. Two infiltrators escaped back to PoK.Taking advantage of the darkness, the militants were able to drag the body of the slain ultra to Pakistani side.
