Lasting moments

The second-year pre-university students of New Horizon Pre-University College, Kasturinagar were given a warm farewell by their juniors at the College campus recently. The theme for the occasion was ‘Bollywood Retro’, which saw students dressed in the 70s and 80s’ style.

The students were spotted taking photographs with their friends, classmates and teachers at the specially-organised ‘photo corner’. The event started with a welcome drink and distribution of mementos for each student. Anchors Purba and Bhavin, first-year pre-university students, welcomed their seniors.

The principal of the College, Jawahar Mirazkar, gave a pep talk to the students, which was followed by the prize- distribution ceremony. The students and the faculty also cut a cake on the occasion.

The fun-filled event had a number of games in store for the students. The best dressed girl and boy walked away with prizes. The highlight of the programme was when the students took to the stage and grooved to popular Bollywood numbers.
Neha Narayan, a second-year PU (science) student, felt that the party stood out from those she had attended earlier.

“The selection of songs were good. What I liked best was that even students not interested in dancing also took to the stage. The whole event was well-organised. We will cherish these memories forever,” she said.

Second-year Farzan Abbas’ only grouse was that the party was short. “We were having such a good time that we didn’t realise how time flew,” he said.

Similar was the reaction of Abhinaya C, a second-year (commerce) student. “I wish the programme was longer. The theme that was chosen was fun and the food that followed was delicious. We are going to carry these memories for a lifetime,” said Abhinaya.

Kruthika B, a second-year PU (science) student, cherished every minute of the party. “Apart from being a lot of fun, we were also given valuable advice. It was a nostalgic moment going down memory lane when students spoke about their time during their two years in College. There was not a student who didn’t have a good time. We will miss college,” said Kruthika.
