The petitioner, Rajamma and seven others, had moved the High Court challenging the disqualification of their memberships following their violation of whip issued by the District Congress President and President, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee during a no confidence motion against Ramaiah, CMC president.
The petitioners, all CMC members belonging to the Congress party had voted against the CMC president during the no confidence motion on November 18, 2009 and the deputy commissioner, following an appeal by the top brass in the party, had disqualified their membership.
However the Court has stayed the deputy commissioner’s order.
