Last Updated 02 December 2009, 16:59 IST

Sahara’s $70 million four-year deal was originally to expire in March 2010, but the Marketing Committee decided, while extending it by six months, that before the expiry of the extension period, a fresh tender would be issued, inviting bids for the same.
Sahara had signed a four-year-deal in 2006 for Rs 313.80 crores.

The BCCI also stands to gain Rs 6.30 crore from the awarding of the title and ground rights for the Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka to be held next week.

The rights have been granted to World Sport Group at Rs 3.15 crore per match for the two games in Nagpur (December 9) and Mohali (December 12).
