JOIN USHoli turned ugly for a 14-year-old girl and three foreigners in the capital on Monday when they were allegedly molested on the pretext of celebrating the festival.
In the first incident, a joint director officer in the Ministry of Defence was accused of allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl in outer Delhi’s Rohini. A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been registered with the Samaypur Badli police station.
The girl is a Class 9 student of a private school in Rohini, while the accused lives in her apartment complex in Rohini Sector-18. In her complaint to the police, the girl claims that she was molested when she was celebrating Holi with her friends .
In another incident, three foreigners were allegedly molested by eight men in south Delhi’s Saket. The accused have been arrested and sent to Tihar Jail. According to the police, the victims — who hail from Germany, South Africa and Colombia — were travelling in an autorickshaw towards Anupam Cineplex. It is alleged that the accused — Surjeet, Krishanjeet, Prince, Gurdeep, Jaspal, Vijay Singh, Sunny and Deepu — were travelling in a Toyota Fortuner car and waylaid them. “The accused were in an inebriated condition and they started playing Holi with the victims. When the victims tried to stop them, the accused started molesting them,” another police officer added.
