Bangladesh entered the Super-10 round of the ICC World T20 despite suffering a shocking two-wicket loss to Hong Kong in the final Group A qualification match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium here on Thursday.

After being dismissed for 108 in 16.3 overs, Bangladesh were in a real spot of bother, with their qualifying chances hanging in balance, thanks to the result in the earlier game where Nepal upset Afghanistan.

Had Hong Kong won in 13.1 overs, Nepal would have gone through by virtue of better nett run-rate, instead of Bangladesh.

But the Tigers pushed Hong Kong till the very end to seal their Super 10 spot. With HK taking 19.4 overs to achieve victory, Bangladesh finished with a nett run rate of +1.46 while Nepal had +0.93.

Bangladesh are now pitted in Group 2 along with India, Pakistan, Australia and defending champions West Indies.

Earlier, Nepal made 141 for five and restricted the Afghans to 132 for eight. The Group A qualifier will be decided on Friday.
