He now has an offer, to play the lead role, in a yet to be titled Tamil film. He plays a lover boy, which definitely suits his chocolate boy looks.

While Karthik has already started shooting for Lift-Kodla, a Kannada film, he was approached by Director Ganesh for the Tamil film. “Kannada film industry is always my first preference but acting in Tamil has been a dream and that dream has come true,” says Karthik.

Ganesh’s directorial debut has fresh faces but the storyline is what caught Karthik attention. “Sacrifice is what is love all about and that is what the story says. Violence has been toned down for a change. Two people in love face resistance from home. Caste and religious differences further distance the couple.

What happens to the couple? That’s for you to find out,” says Karthik and adds, “it doesn’t matter if the director is new. It’s talent that matters.” 

Karthik says he always wanted to essay a character similar to what Shahrukh Khan did in Baazigar or Darr. “It’s challenging and calls for a lot of emotion,” he says.
