<p>Blue spade, the art gallery at Chancery Hotel, held an intriguing group show of eight visual artists titled Integrating the Times. The guest drifted into the the venue to catch an early start on the long schedule of events that were happening in the City. They spent a lot of time studying the paintings on display and interacting with the artists present settling down to catch up with current events and compare notes on the art being exhibited.<br /><br />“We especially chose these artists as they integrate the very idea of time in the language of their visual creation,” said Neha Jiandani, curator of the event.There was plenty to discuss and look at as the displayed paintings were both intriguing as well as topical. <br /><br />“I really find this young artist’s work very interesting as he has used both his imagination as well as his talent to reflect things he sees in everyday life through a different and unique perspective,” said Donna Lethborg, one of the visitors. Some of the guests were mesmerised by the geometric patterns that had a mass of dense rivetting images forming a closely linked pattern. Others liked the use of materials like a piece of rusted metal, the corroded surface forming a lacy panel of blacks and reds.<br /><br />“I like the concept of time that the artist has used to interpret in the context of rusting metal and the destruction of material objects. It is both clever and different,” said one. While abstract art is not for every one to understand and appreciate, the variety and different styles of the artists made the collection interesting and gave the visitors plenty to debate about and admire.<br /><br />“I am looking to buy a series of black and white paintings or drawings that will liven up walls, make for a good conversation piece and yet not intrude on or clash with my clients decor. I think I will get what I’m looking for at this exhibition,” said Sheela and interior designer. The exhibition is till December 24.</p>
