BFC fans in for a Goan treat

After the fans laid out a red carpet welcome for Bengaluru FC players and staff following their 4-2 win against Dempo last week, it is now the club which is reciprocating the fan’s gesture of support.

BFC are taking about 45-50 fans to the last match in Goa against Sporting Clube de Goa on Monday.

Apart from the to and fro bus fare, the club is also sponsoring the tickets for the match.

This is the second time that the club is taking fans on an away trip.

They had taken a group to Manjeri to watch the Federation Cup.

Meanwhile BFC also confirmed their plans of having an open-top parade to celebrate winning the I-League title on April 29.

“The open-top bus starts from Kamaraj Road Junction on Cubbon road at 4 pm sharp, before turning left on Brigade Road signal (opposite Cauvery Emporium),” the club revealed the plans on their Facebook page.

“Then, the parade goes right to Mayo Hall signal (near Bangalore Central) on to Commissariat road, then left on Garuda mall junction before taking a U-turn on Hosmat signal before turning right on D’Souza circle and finally reaching the Bangalore Football Stadium.”

The Blues will look to sign off with a win against Sporting at the Nehru Stadium. They already have 44 points from 23 games – four points above East Bengal, who are second with 40.

Sporting have 34 points and a win would enable them to finish among the top five – their aim at the start of the season.

Talking on the eve of the match, their coach Oscar Bruzon said he wants his team to end up on the winning side.

 “Our first aim was to finish among (the) top five. We are looking for a win tomorrow (Monday),” stated Bruzon.

Salgaocar vs Churchill Brothers: Last season’s champions Churchill face a do-or-die battle to stay in the I-League. Given that Mohammedans beat Mumbai 2-1, Churchill will be relegated if they don’t win.

Pune FC vs Dempo: Pune FC will be eager to end their campaign on a high in Pune.
The season’s final game will be crucial for seventh-placed Pune (29 points) as a win against sixth-placed Dempo (32) will see them move up a place and maintain the club’s history of finishing in the top half of the standings.

United SC vs East Bengal: The Kolkatan giants will want to put the disappointment of not being able to win the title behind them by sealing second place with a win against United SC away from home.
