Body recovered from a bag in Karnataka express

Body of a young girl was recovered from a trolley bag by GRP personnel from one of the sleeper coaches of the New Delhi- Bangalore Karnataka express, police said today.

Two Government Railway Police (GRP) constables  Agra, who were on duty in the Bangalore bound train found an unclaimed trolley bag in S-9 coach of the train during checking after it departed from New Delhi railway station last night, said Superintendent of Police (Railway), Agra, Wazi Ahmad.

"Constables after contacting the SP office in Agra, were asked to deboard at the Mathura railway station. They will be rewarded. A team of GRP officials have been sent to New Delhi for further investigation," he added.

"Prima facie the girl was allegedly murdered and the dead body was kept in the trolley bag," he said.

"But how the bag containing a dead body reached platform of New Delhi station and was kept inside the coach, despite passing through security checks at the station is a relevant point, which would be investigated," he said.

The body has been sent for post mortem and further investigation is underway, he added.
