<p>Governor H R Bhardwaj has welcomed the Supreme Court verdict, which gives parents the choice to choose the medium of instruction for their wards.<br /><br />The Governor was speaking at the third convocation of the Samskrit University here on Wednesday.</p>.<p> He allayed fears that the court verdict would have a bearing on Kannada language. Bhardwaj said Kannada had a strong literary tradition and could never fade away.<br /><br />In his speech, Dr V R Panchamukhi, chancellor of the Tirupati-based National Sanskrit University, said that the government should introduce a four-language policy, in which Sanskrit figures prominently apart from English, Hindi and the local language. </p>.<p>This, he felt, was necessary to save Sanskrit from disappearing from the country of its origin.<br /></p>
