No respite from heat wave in Odisha

Heat wave in Odisha continued for the third consecutive day on Wednesday with the maximum day time temperature crossing 40 degree Celsius in as many as 16 towns in the state.

There will be no change in the weather conditions till next week, according to the local met officials.

As per the daily bulletin released by the local met office, on Wednesday, the highest day time temperature in the state — 44.2 degree Celsius — was recorded in the western Odisha town of Titlagarh in Bolangir district followed by 43 degree Celsius in another western Odisha town of Bhawanipatna, the headquarters of Kalahandi district.

“Severe heat wave condition may continue in Odisha till May 21 though there may be occasional rain at one or two places”, the met office bulletin warned.
