Vandals go berserk again

Seven cars, five autos, six shops damaged

According to sources, a group of around seven people, all in the age group of 18-21 years from Okalipuram attacked the vehicles and damaged shops at around 6.30 pm on 6th and 7th Main, RIG Colony.

However, there are no human casualties. Similar incidents were also reported from Prakashnagar and Gayathrinagar.

The motive of the gang, sources said, was to avenge Soma, a rowdy of Srirampuram. The gang had earlier received a thrashing at the hands of Soma's gang a few months ago.
A miscreant was caught while the rest were being chased after police swung into action, M R Poojar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) told Deccan Herald.

Eight held

The JP Nagar police have arrested eight persons for allegedly planning to commit a dacoity and recovered lethal weapons, cellphones, three autorickshaws, all valued at Rs three lakh. Mohan of Corporation Colony, Chandrashekhar of JP Nagar, Srinagaraj of Gurappanapalya, Alla Bakas of Vitesandra, M N Shivaraj of Tavarkere, Tabrez of Lakkasandra, Shivakumar and Ravi Kumar, both from Jaraganahalli are the arrested.

Stabbed to death

A 40-year-old man was stabbed to death over a trivial dispute on Wednesday. The deceased Mahadevappa, a factory worker and a native of Malavalli had gone to a military hotel for dinner.

He got into a tiff with Venkatesh, Appu and others over a seat, which ended with the gang stabbing Mahadevappa to death.
