<p>The City Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths have arrested a 24-year-old MBA student from Bhatkal for allegedly sending an objectionable SMS on a cellphone about prime minister-designate Narendra Modi. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The arrested has been identified as Syed Wakash. He and his associates, Osama Olangar, Rehmat Ullah, Sada Kola and Mujaheed came to the City two weeks ago for a training programme. They were staying at Vasanthnagar. <br /><br />On May 16, they sent the following SMS to Jayanth Tinekar, a social activist in Belgaum:“Ab ki bar Modi Antya Samskar. (This time Modi’s funeral). <br /><br />Tinekar, who noticed the message on May 23, lodged a complaint with the Khanapur police. On verification,the local police found that the content had originated from Bangalore, and informed the CCB police.<br /><br />After a search, the police arrested Wakash on Saturday and handed him over to the local police for further inquiry. “It is not known why he indulged in such an act. <br /><br />He was in the City as part of his academic training which was to conclude on May 29,”Joint Commissioner of Police, (Crime), Hemanth Nimbalkar said.<br /></p>
