I am with you, Sonia tells MPs

In a morale-booster for defeated party nominees of the recent Lok Sabha elections, Congress president Sonia Gandhi has written letters assuring them of her constant support in these challenging times.

Gandhi also urged the unsuccessful nominees not to be disheartened by the defeat and remain in touch with their constituencies to revive the party.

“I am always there with you in this struggle. I shall be in regular contact with all of you,” she is learnt to have told party leaders who failed to make it to the Lok Sabha.

The Congress is expected to hold a brainstorming session next month to deliberate on the future course of action to revive the party organisation. A reshuffle of the party organisation is also on the cards.
