In yet another case of crime against women, a man threw acid on his wife’s face after assaulting her.

Incidentally, the 24-year-old victim Gudia is a woman constable of Bihar Military Police.

With severe burn injuries, Gudia was rushed to the Sasaram Sadar hospital.

Doctors attending on her said that it may take years to get the scars removed from her face. “It will take time for her wounds to heal. She may have to undergo plastic surgery,” the doctor said, adding that she could not resist the man as the perpetrator was her husband who married her in 2011.

The woman cop later lodged a complaint against her husband Om Prakash, a resident of Udham Singh Nagar in Uttarakhand, charging him with attempt to murder and assault.

She told the police that her husband reached the police barrack at Sasaram and finding her alone assaulted her mercilessly before throwing acid on her face.

Hearing Gudia’s screams, other women cops  rushed to rescue her, but two male constables helped Om flee.

Gudia has named the two cops as Ram Janam Singh (jamadar) and Balram Murmur (havildar) in the FIR who helped her husband.
