JOIN USThe Rajagopalnagar police have arrested a 45-year-old man on the charge of sexually assaulting his 15-year-old daughter over the past one year in Magadi, Ramanagaram district.
Recently, when the girl informed her mother about it, she discussed the matter with a female relative of her husband.
The relative took the victim and her mother to Manjamma, who practises witchcraft at Laggere in Rajagopalnagar. Even though the mother believed what her daughter said, the relative insisted her that they take the girl to Manjamma to find out if the girl is saying the truth with a ritual. The victim’s hand had to be placed on thorns and if it bleeds, it means she is lying.
During the ritual, the girl was assaulted mercilessly by Manjamma, police said. A few neighbours alerted the police who rushed to the spot and arrested the four– the girl’s father, his relative, Manjamma and her aide. The Rajagopalnagar police registered a case of rape against the father.
