'Make use of RTI Act'

Speaking as a resource person at an awareness programme on RTI Act organised by the Department of Information, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchyaat, Sri Kshetra Dharmastala Rural Development Programme (SKDRDP) and Kinnigoli gram panchayaat at Punarooru Sri Vishwanatha Temple near here on Sunday, Cardoza said that India is one of the nations, which signed the global agreement on human rights.The RTI Act, which was enacted on June 15, 2005, is a powerful Act. People should make use of the provisions of the Act for the development of the nation, said adding that people can find solutions to social menaces including corruption, nepotism and inadequate administration through RTI Act.

Taluk panchayat member Sujatha Sadananda inaugurated the programme, while gram panchayat member Dinesh, SKDRDP representative Anitha and Information Department  Assistant Director Rohini were the guests.
