'Senior MLAs neglected during Cabinet expansion'

Last Updated 25 December 2009, 17:04 IST

“A decision will be taken on the next political move after conducting a meeting of the disappointed senior MLAs in Bangalore on December 29,” he told reporters here on Friday.

He said if the MLAs intend, he is ready to take the leadership of the disappointed MLAs troupe.

“Senior MLAs like A Ramadas, Shankaralinge Gowda, N Yogish Bhat, S Angara, Narayanaswamy, Charantimath and Abhay Patil who have been neglected during Cabinet expansion should be inducted into the ministry. Even I have become MLA thrice. I am naturally disappointed that I never got an opportunity in the Cabinet,” Appacchu Ranjan said.

“We have been committed to party and we have spent and toiled more towards the party than our own requirements. Some people made assets after becoming MLAs but we lost ours. Even in the future we don’t have any intention of making money. But those who have really worked for the party should be included in the ministry,” he said and added that incapable people have been retained in the Cabinet.

“They do not have the capacity of answering questions in the Assembly. This has been brought to the notice of the Sangh Pariwar too,” he said.

“We have built the party like white ants build the anthils. Unfortunately, serpents have got shelter in them,” the MLA criticised.

He said they were not taking part in the Assembly session for the past 3-4 days.
We will not take part until we get response to our demands, he added.

“The BJP  government has disillusioned the people. People had expected good administration from the government. We wish that the government gives good administration at least in the next three years,” he said.

“In order to give representation to Kodagu, the in-chage Speaker K G Bopaiah should be made the Speaker. In S M Krishna’s government, all the three MLAs of the district had been in the Cabinet. Kodagu should be given such a representation now also,” Appacchuranjan urged.
