Four men entered a businessman’s office, held his employees hostage at gunpoint and made away with Rs 26 lakh in cash in north Delhi’s Sadar Bazar on Wednesday.

While mastermind Subodh Pandey was arrested within 24 hours, police are looking for three other persons who executed the armed robbery.

The incident took place around 7 pm in Sanjay Gupta’s office. Gupta deals in metal trading.

Police said some of Sanjay’s employees were present in the office when two men came inside and cornered the employees at gunpoint.

They threatened the employees and forced them to hand over the cash in the office.

“The two men robbed Rs 26 lakh from the office and fled with their two accomplices who were waiting outside,” said a police officer.

A case of robbery was registered with Sadar Bazar police station.

During probe, police examined CCTV footage and collected evidence pertaining to the identity of the suspects.

They picked up Subodh after his role was confirmed in the crime. He was interrogated after which he confessed to the crime.

“Subodh’s interrogation revealed that he worked as an employee with Sanjay’s brother. He planned the robbery and involved one of Sanjay’s employees as they were in need of money. The two hired two criminals for executing the crime,” the officer added.
