Bengaluru International Film Fest from Dec 4

More than 170 films from across 44 countries will be screened at the seventh edition of Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFF) scheduled to begin in the City on December 4.­

The film fest will showcase the best of world cinema as well as national and regional classics.
BIFF will focus on contemporary issues such as ‘Gender Violence’ through screenings and discussions.

The retrospective this year will be dedicated to films based on Kannada litterateur U R Ananthamurthy’s novels and works of cinematographer V K Murthy. Screening of highly acclaimed films from Iran, Pakistan, Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and other countries will be the major attraction this year. Classes on cinematography, exhibitions and seminars have been organised as part of the fest.

Movies will be shown in 11 screens, including Fun Cinema, Lido Inox, Chamundeshwari Studios, Sulochana and Priyadarshini.

There will be evening screenings at Freedom Park. The festival will last till December 11. Indian cinema category will have three awards unlike only one in the previous editions.

The registration fee for delegates is Rs 600 and for others it is Rs 300.
