The Kadri police have registered a suo motu case against Srirama Sene president Pramod Muthalik for his inciting remarks on rapists.
Addressing the media here on Sunday, he had said the relatives of rape victims should cut off the hands of rapists.
Rapists are not scared of law and the court and the police have failed to punish them. The Sene will bear the expenses of the court cases that may arise against those who sever the hands of rapists, he had said.
The police said Muthalik’s remarks had the potential to disturb peace in society. City Police Commissioner R Hithendra confirmed that a case had been registered against the Sene leader.
