<p>A woman, committed suicide, after drowning her two-year-old son, allegedly due to the harassment meted out by her husband and in-laws, at Chikkacheechanahalli, Hunsur taluk, Mysore district, on Saturday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The deceased have been identified as Kalavathi (23) and Yogesh (2). She pushed her son into a tank in the village, before drowning herself. Kalavathy was married to Manjunath of the same village, for four years.<br /><br />Following the suicide, Guruswamy, brother of the deceased has lodged a complaint with the police, blaming Manjunath, his mother Mahadevamma, father Bundegowda and his brother Shivakumar. The accused are learnt to have deserted their house in the village, after the suicide.<br /><br />In the complaint, Guruswamy has alleged that despite marrying off his sister by paying dowry, her husband and in-laws were constantly harassing Kalavathi. Troubled by this, she had left her husband’s house and had returned back to her family about six months ago.<br />Subsequently, a village meeting was convened, following which Kalavathy returned to her in-laws, as the latter promised to stop harassing her. However, since the harassment did not stop, she took the drastic step, Guruswamy has alleged. <br />DH News Service</p>
