'No official has visited rain-affected areas yet'

Jowar grown in Lakya hobli has been completely destroyed. Raagi too has been severely affected. Potato has caught ‘angamari’ disease. Coriander leaves, green chilly and similar crops have a difficult time to survive.

“No official from Agriculture department has visited our village yet,” said Shashidhar of Hiregowja village.

Areca worth lakhs of rupees has been destroyed as stormwater entered the areca baking units in Tarikere taluk. As many as 50 houses have been inundated while 10 have been damaged.
