Actor Gauhar Khan slapped for 'wearing short clothes'

Model and actress Gauhar Khan on Sunday was slapped by a youth from audience while she was hosting the final episode of 'India's Raw Star' , a musical reality show, at Film City, Goregaon (East).

The police have arrested accused Akil Malik, who reportedly said "being a Muslim woman, she should not have worn such a short dress."

According to reports, Gauhar Khan got into an argument with the 24-year-old youth in question after the latter started teasing her.

The accused shocked everyone after he turned violent and slapped the actress. Before it could get any worse, the security guards at the venue overpowered him and handed him over to the police.

"The accused was subsequently arrested and booked under Indian Penal Code sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation)," Senior inspector at Aarey police station, Vilas Chavan, told PTI.
