Tata Motors posts Dec sales grows over 100 per cent

The company’s domestic sales (commercial & passenger vehiles) stood at 48,173 units, a 102 per cent  growth over 23,894 units, while cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal is at 432,630 units, posting a growth of 19 per cent. LCV sales were 18,217 units, a growth of 97 per cent over December last year. M&HCV sales stood at 15,302 units, a growth of 218 per cent and the highest since March 2008. Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market are 255,168 units, a growth of 31 per cent over last year. Similarly, it sold 33,519 units of commercial vehicles in the domestic market, the highest since March 2008 posting a 138 per cent growth. It said that the cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 255,168 units, a growth of 31% over last year. The passenger vehicles business reported a total sale and distribution offtake of 15,662 units in the domestic market in December 2009, a 55 per cent increase compared to 10,118 units in December last year.

Further, the company said that sales from exports at 3,454 vehicles in December 2009 registered a growth of 161 per cent compared to 1,325 vehicles in December last year. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal at 23,523 units are lower by 19 per cent over 29,066 units in the same period last year.
