The two sisters form Haryana’s Rohtak district, who fought their “harassers” with bare hands in a moving bus, are now battling a more unpalatable situation.

Sisters Pooja and Aarti have become targets of a fierce mudslinging campaign that is “being orchestrated by the family and natives of the accused boy’s village”. The developments unfolded after another month-old video, showing the two sisters beating a boy in a park in Rohtak, went viral on the social media.

Some of the villagers who are openly supporting the accused persons, have not shied away from even indulging in character assassination of the sisters saying that “good girls don’t go to parks”.

The misery of the girls compounded on Wednesday when an old women co-passenger, who was on the bus when the fight took place, surfaced to condemn the girls. 80-year-old Nirmala Devi rubbished the claims of the sisters saying that the fight in the bus was over a seat and not because they were harassed by the accused boys.

Referring to the second video that shows the sisters beating an eve teaser in a park, Brijesh Tiwari, a supporter of the accused, said, “Good girls don’t go to parks, instead of school or college. Why is it that only these girls are always harassed.” He continued his unpalatable rant questing why the sisters kept belts, and that too the ones worn by men, in their bag instead of wearing it on the waist.

Brijesh accused the girls of orchestrating the “act” to get money. He claimed the father of the girls was in debt. Undeterred, the sisters vow to fight out all the allegations being leveled against them.
