Janata Parivar: New identity for JD(U)

Last Updated 05 December 2014, 19:44 IST

The Janata Dal (United), which has lost its identity in the State over the years, is looking forward to the birth of Janata Parivar.

The merger of regional parties to form a new Janata Parivar has brought cheers to JD (S) national president H D Deve Gowda as well as JD(U) State president and national vice president M P Nadagouda.

Gowda on Friday said the merger of the regional parties into a new party might happen early next year as Bihar would head for Assembly elections. When asked if the merger of JD(S) and JD(U) would help his party strengthen its base in the State, Gowda said, “The merger effort is to have a party that is an alternative to both the BJP and the Congress. It would have its impact on the State too.”
