Petrol and diesel prices were cut, the second time this month, by Rs 2 per litre from Monday-Tuesday midnight.

The price cut will vary from state to state because of difference in the rate of local taxes.

The rate  reduction has come as international crude prices are trading at a five-year low. Petrol in Delhi will now sell at Rs 61.33 per litre from the earlier Rs 63.33 while in Mumbai it will be Rs 68.86 from the earlier Rs 70.95. In Kolkata, petrol will sell at Rs 68.65 per litre from the earlier Rs 70.73 while in Chennai the new price will be Rs 63.94 from Rs 66.05.

Similarly, the diesel prices will be lowered at Rs 50.51 in Delhi from Rs 52.51 while in Mumbai, it will sell at Rs 57.91 per litre from the current Rs 60.11.
