Raja Babu clinches gold

Andhra Pradesh’s S Raja Babu emerged winner in the senior boys’ category of the 17th National Vanavasi Archery Competition which concluded here on Sunday at the Vagdevi Vilas School, Varthur.

Raja Babu scored 303 points to bag the gold ahead of Stat-mate (286) and Madhya Pradesh’s Jawan Singh (284).

In the junior category, Niraj Soren and Nanika Putry struck gold in the boys’ and girls’ category respectively.

Niraj registered 608 points to finish first while Nanika scored 535 points to win the competition.

 Boys: Senior: S Raja Babu (Andhra Pradesh) 303 1; A Sudhakar Naidu (Andhra Pradesh) 286, 2; Jawan Singh (Madhya Pradesh) 284, 3. 

Junior: Niraj Soren (Jharkhand) 608, 1; Avaidh Narayan (UP East) 593, 2; Sobhanath (UP East) 593, 3.

Sub-junior: Andhra (1172), 1; Madhya Bharat (861) 2; Arunachal Pradesh (857) 3.

Girls: Junior: Nanika Purty (Jharkhand) 535, 1; T Latha (Andhra) 463, 2; Jingi (Jharkhand) 271, 3.
