Textile owner robbed of cash, gold

The owner of a textile showroom was gagged and robbed of Rs 35,000 cash and a gold chain in his shop at Akshay Nagar in Ramamurthy Nagar police station limits on Wednesday night.

On Wednesday around 9.30 pm, Sunil, the shop owner, was closing the shop when two persons forced him inside the shop and rolled down the shutters. They gagged him and tied him up.

They took away Rs 35,000 cash from the cash box and a gold chain weighing eight grams and fled the spot after locking him up inside the shop.

Sunil managed to untie himself and called his sister on her mobile phone, who informed the police. The complainant told the police that miscreants were conversing in Hindi.
In another incident, burglars decamped with gold valuables after breaking into the house of a private company employee.

On Wednesday morning around 9 am, Jayanth Naik locked the house and left for work. When he returned in the night, he found the door lock broken. His house was ransacked and gold valuables worth Rs 4.68 lakh were missing. He has filed a police complaint.
