HC notice to Bar Council

In a suo motu contempt proceeding initiated by the HC, the division bench comprising Justice Sreedhar Rao and Justice Subhash B Adi adjourned the matter saying that the Court wants a wider hearing in this matter. Earlier, the counsel for the Advocates Association, mentioning about the show cause notice issued on 10 November, submitted a statement of objections that the Court does not have the jurisdiction to issue a show cause notice.

The bench then said that it would like to hear from the KSBC in this regard and asked the advocates whether they have any objections in this regard. When the advocates said they have none, the bench ordered notice.
