CET: DK students excel

Naveen has also secured the 26th rank in medical while Aneesh has got the 18th rank in engineering. The second rank holder in engineering, a native of Madikeri, is also from the Satya Sai Educational Institutions. Meanwhile, there are about eight students from Expert PU College in Mangalore who have made their appearance in the top-50 ranks.

Chandan Kulkarni (medical, 5th), Nithin Mallya (engineering, 9th), Pavan M Bhat (medical, 15th), Vikram Hosamani (engineering, 28th), Kshithij Shetty (engineering, 31st), Sudeep Sham Bhat (engineering, 38th), Gauravi Gowda (engineering, 44th) and Ashith Kumar B S (medical, 46th) are from Expert PU College.

Suhas Rohith Pai (engineering, 16th) is from Canara PU College. All these students, including Aneesh Bhat, the topper in medical, were got trained in Expert Coaching Classes.

Sumika S Pai, the 5th rank holder in architecture, and Sandeep, the 6th rank holder in engineering are the students of St Aloysius PU College in Mangalore.

Naveen Bhat, the engineering topper, got coaching in Boscoss Tutorials in Mangalore. Samyukta B Rai (engineering, 14th), Ranjitha Pai Kasturi (engineering, 49th) and Siddartha (engineering, 85th) are also from the Boscoss.

Toppers talk

According to Naveen Bhat, the engineering topper, the skill one requires for the CET is completely different from that of the PUC since one needs to be more clear about concepts to crack the CET.

Aneesh Bhat, the medical topper, said his attentive listening in the classes and hard work in the home, besides the encouragement from teachers and parents yielded him the fruit.

Yashwanth Marathe, the second rank holder in engineering, wants to become an IAS officer after completing his graduation. Chandan Kulkarni, who secured the 5th rank in medical, said “I owe my achievement for the hard work and effort I had put in. I also thank my teachers and parents for supporting and guiding me. Hard work is the core in CET. After the Board exam I used to study for six to eight hours daily.” Both his parents are doctors.

Sandeep, who secured VI rank in engineering said “I am feeling pretty good over my success. I used to study for six to seven hours daily during holidays.”

Nithin Mallya who secured the 9th rank in engineering, said “its really a joyous moment. Understanding the concept will help in the success in CET. By understanding the concept
one can solve any problem.” 

Pavan M Bhat, the 15th rank holder in medical, said he wants to pursue his degree within Karnataka itself. He credited his success to the God’s grace and his regular preparations, beside the coaching he received.

Gauravi Gowda, the 44th rank holder in engineering, said any average student can secure a good rank in CET if he/she has the commitment and perseverance towards the goal.

Four pass IIT-JEE

As many as four students from the city have passed the IIT-JEE examination. Meanwhile, eight others have made into the “extended merit list”. All students are from the Expert PU College.

Sudeep Shyam Bhat, Srikesh Prabhu, Nithin Mallya and Shreenidhi Joshi are the ones selected for the IITs. The names of Gauravi Gowda, Shruthi Masaguppi, Akhila B V, Ankush N Nayak, Ram Prasad, Devdas Bhat, Vikram Hosamani and Smitha P V are in the extended merit list.

Chairman of Expert PU College Narendra Nayak congratulated the students for their success both in CET and IIT-JEE.
